Welcome to the Sunshine {Kalea’s Introduction Post}

January 30, 2016 by CVRR

kalea

So I have been contemplating what would be my first CVRR post. I know there will be many more, but there’s only one first post and first impression. I truly love both my job and volunteer job. My full time job is an elementary school counselor. I LOVE the kids I work with, there are fun days and challenging days but no day is the same and each day I am making an impact on their lives and my own. I also love fostering, volunteering, coordinator (aka FEMA to storm Laura :P) but no I truly do love it and being involved with the CVRR rescue community. I have made friends and family with those in the rescue world. When the world may seem negative or gloom we find the positive and sparkle to continue shiny bright for humanity and for the animals who need us and the humans who need those animals in their life.

Today I was standing in the hall talking to a teacher when I saw this picture.
Each lesson I do I show a picture of myself or my dogs with a small personal story so they can get to know me. Most of the time it’s a picture of my dogs! Can I tell you how motivated they were two years ago during SOL to watch puppy videos if they used all their tools and tried their best! Ah motivation. Any who, My last lesson I showed a picture of my Foster (failure) Henry in a cast explaining again how I Foster dogs and how Henry needed me. Some of the kids understood, some of them I need to explain it a little further.

Well I guess one girl was listening as she wrote “when I grow up I want to be a pet Foster mom”!! Can’t wait for this girl to be a future furry Foster mom!!

Also the fact that she picked my second favorite princess movie isn’t to bad either! Yes, I’m the one that names all her dogs Disney names :P!

So welcome to the sunshine, welcome to finding the positive instead of the negative that can tear you down!! We are so glad to have this CVRR community and we could not do it without you! ❤
