Copper UpdateAll CVRR animals must be spayed or neutered (not always before going to a forever home, but it helps). Our adoption fees help offset some of the cost of the veterinary fees. (Yes we do pay). Today was Copper’s turn to get snipped. Since he had never been to the vet, he also got his vaccinations and a few tests done. He was heartworm negative so we will be starting him on Heart worm meds as well as flea and tick preventions in a few days. We are so grateful for our Vet partners like Riverside Veterinary Hospital for taking such good care of this sweet boy today. Also to Petco Lynchburg for the donation of several recovery suits! This not only makes him more comfy without a cone of shame, it’s keeping his son from coming over to lick him. #spayandneuter #rescuedogs #cvrrescue #lambchoptoy #adopdontshop ...

Did you know we are 100% foster-based? Our animals have lived in our homes with us and we can tell you all about them! The only downside to this is that we do not have one place you can go to meet them all. We do have a few cages at PetSmart in Lynchburg where kittens can stay a few weeks to be seen, but not one place. So we encourage you to apply and tell us about your family and we would love to set up meet and greets with a dog or cat who could be a great fit for you! :) Cvrrescue.org/adoptable-animals Here are Wonka, Charlie Wonka and October, three sweet kittens who live in a foster home with other cats and children. ❤️ (see comments for several more adoptable animals in foster homes now!) ...

We hope everyone is having a great Labor Day and enjoying their holiday! Whether you are exploring the great outdoors, firing up the grill, relaxing, or spending time with friends and family, here’s a few tips to keep our four legged friends safe today and everyday.✅ Keep pets, cool and hydrated ensuring they have plenty of freshwater.✅ Provide a safe shaded space for them too cool down. ✅ Make sure BBQ scraps and toxic foods are not accessible to curious pets and their mouths. ✅ Do not allow animals to have cooked bones at seasoned meats. ✅ Never leave pets inside a vehicle, even for a few minutes. ✅ Keep collars and tags on and make sure they are up to date with contact info in case they wander off or get lost. ** if your pet is micro chipped, make sure your information is up-to-date**Keeping your family safe ensures everyone has an enjoyable time, for Labor Day and beyond. After all, our pets are part of family too and their welfare is up to us! #rescuepetsofinstagram #rescuedog #rescuedogsrule #adoptadog #rescuedismyfavoritebreed #adoptdontshop #cvrrescue #laborday #petcare #PetSafety ...
