Debi Martin

January 19, 2021 by CVRR

Hi there! I’m Debi Martin, born and raised in Rustburg, Virginia. I work from home managing the administration of a small but mighty cycling company, and on the side I dye and sell yarn.

When I was a kid, my family always had a clan of cats outdoors, and I loved them, often begging my parents to let us bring them inside. As a young teenager, I hand raised several abandoned kittens, and one of them had some sort of neural damage that left her unable to walk or hold herself upright. I cared for her for a year until my parents euthanized her while I was away for a few days.

I started fostering kittens in 2017 or 2018, mostly because my daughter begged me to, and soon found myself falling in love. I adopted two babies (tuxedo Long John and Russian blue Jelly) from a very special litter the summer of 2020, and my daughter has an older tuxedo cat named Sophia, who would very much prefer that she be the only cat in the world.

I joined CVRR as a volunteer at the end of 2020. I love the community and resources here! Together we can do great things.

We have so many kittens right now, and these handsome little lads will be available for adoptions on June 11! These adoption fee is for these cuties is $75. Which includes spay/neuter, and vaccinations. Many cats do so much better in pairs, especially kittens, which is why we offer a reduced adoption fee of $25 for the second cat (or more!). We welcome applications from outside the Lynchburg area; just keep in mind that non-local adopters must wait till the cat is altered before taking it home.Click on their links below to visit their page, and apply to adopt one or more by filling out an application here: www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/Grant: cvrrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21440010Garfield: cvrrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21440011George: cvrrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21440012Gus: cvrrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21440012Charles: cvrrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21440014Godfrey: cvrrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21440015 ...
