My name is Chelsea. I work full time and have my own place. I tend to be a homebody. I’m blunt, sarcastic, very honest and I rarely know the thing to say at the appropriate time. I have 2 dogs; a shepherd mix named Jade and a mastiff mix named Oakley. I also have 4 cats: Erza, Iris, Jayce, and Aria. Every one of my babies are rescues.

I got into rescue in October of 2014. There are very few things I feel that I have done right or well in my life, but fostering and rescue are at the top of the list. I started volunteering when I was battling depression because of some events that happened in my life and when I started, I had no idea what I would end up finding. This is my family, my home away from home wherever I go. I made friends, started believing in myself. Started to feel accomplished and that I actually could make a difference in the world no matter how small. I wouldn’t give it up for anything in the world.

I mostly foster puppies or submissive dogs as my Jade can be a bit dominant. Jade and Oakley are in love with puppies, so even though the messes and the basic training can be a pain, watching them enjoy themselves is worth it. I am not against any breed or age. As long as they fit in my household I’m happy and will treat them as if they were my own. The most I’ve had in my household at one time was 15 animals all told because I started fostering an emaciated hound that surprised me with 7 puppies on my couch not 10 hours after pulling her from the shelter =).

Central Virginia Regional Rescue is a home. Its a rescue not only for the abused, neglect and unwanted animals, but also for the extra crazy animal lovers like me. Its a place of love and understanding with lots of hard work and dedication. Every member of this organization is committed to the same goal, to help our community with the rescue and rehoming of animals. I want to see it grow and succeed. I want to see it achieve its goal to the best of its ability and to rescue more misfit animal lovers like me. We are a family and families stick together!
“Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.”

We have so many kittens right now, and these handsome little lads will be available for adoptions on June 11! These adoption fee is for these cuties is $75. Which includes spay/neuter, and vaccinations. Many cats do so much better in pairs, especially kittens, which is why we offer a reduced adoption fee of $25 for the second cat (or more!). We welcome applications from outside the Lynchburg area; just keep in mind that non-local adopters must wait till the cat is altered before taking it home.Click on their links below to visit their page, and apply to adopt one or more by filling out an application here: www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/Grant: cvrrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21440010Garfield: cvrrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21440011George: cvrrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21440012Gus: cvrrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21440012Charles: cvrrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21440014Godfrey: cvrrescue.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=21440015 ...
