Julia

July 27, 2017 by CVRR

I started volunteering with CVRR in 2016, mostly assisting with the Central Virginia Rescue Rangers. As an educator in Lynchburg City Schools and Central Virginia Community College this seems to be my niche along with assisting in special events. My CVRR foster experience lasted about a day before we adopted our newest family member, a lovable, lab mix we named Bear. He … [Read more...]

Brandi

I'm Brandi Evans and I work as a Collections Officer at a local bank. I started volunteering in rescue about 5 years ago. I love both cats and dogs, (who am I kidding, I'm crazy about ALL animals!!) and my husband and I are lucky "parents" to our 2 fur babies, Smallboy & Babs who are both rescues from local shelters. I was born and raised in the Central Va area and can't … [Read more...]

Barbara

June 27, 2017 by CVRR

Hi! I’m Barbara. I am a confirmed sucker for animals. My parents loved animals and passed that along to me. We always had dogs as I grew up and they were a part of the family. I always dreamed of helping animals when I grew up. Raised in NJ, with an AA degree in liberal arts from a Bible College, I had no idea what I wanted to do “when I grew up”. But the idea of working … [Read more...]

Andrea Cerqua (pictured with Roscoe) I'm the Vice President at the Amherst Shelter. I've been with the shelter for 17 years wearing a second hat as the Rescue Coordinator. I've always been a big fan of teamwork. It takes effort to help the homeless animals in our surrounding counties. Any organization or group that goes above and beyond to help our community with helping … [Read more...]

Robbie & Joy

September 18, 2016 by CVRR

My name is Joy and I have been volunteering since the summer of 2013. I started volunteering to fill community service hours required by my college for graduation. I saw a plea on facebook asking for cat volunteers and that is where I started off. A few months later, I fostered my first dog (who ultimately became my first foster failure - I adopted him!) I fostered several … [Read more...]

Moseley, “Mose,” or “Mo-Mo” is a truly special dog. At 2–3 years old, he has a calm and steady temperament with just the right amount of playful energy. He enjoys running in the yard, keeping watch over the perimeter—keeping an eye out for squirrels, rabbits, and groundhogs. He protects my garden from these worrisome visitors. He’s incredibly loyal and loving. Moseley gives a few warning barks when someone approaches the door, but once guests are inside, he welcomes them warmly. He’s especially gentle and affectionate with children and truly enjoys being part of a family.Inside our home, he’s respectful and easygoing. His best friend is Ducky the cat, and their quiet companionship is a joy to witness. Moseley will sometimes give chase, but only when Ducky invites it. Though he has access to furniture, he typically prefers his own bed—this photo is a rare moment when he made an exception.Moseley has been patiently waiting for the right match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick treatment. His adoption fee is $225.If you are looking for a loyal, gentle dog with a kind heart and steady presence, Moseley may be the one. To meet him, please apply at cvrrescue.org.He deserves a home where he can be loved as deeply as he loves in return. ... See MoreSee Less
